Salesforce is looking to add to our expanding security organization. We're seeking System Security Engineers who are passionate about security and have had hands-on experience with infrastructure at a cloud scale.  The Systems Security team is responsible for the run function of the Security Org. This team includes Identity & Access Management, IT Operations for Infrastructure Security, Network Security, Security Monitoring, and Cryptography. This group manages a fast-paced and constantly growing environment that seeks to implement cutting-edge technology to secure the infrastructure behind one of the world's largest business driving technologies.  As a Systems Security Engineer, you understand Unix/Linux or similar systems, automation tools, general networking knowledge, and an interest in growing as a cyber security professional.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build and deploy systems

  • Configuration management

  • Definition and enforcement of system security policies

  • Definition and implementation of authorization/authentication services

  • Research/implement new security technologies

  • Management/Review of system security configuration and architecture

  • Formulating and implementing monitoring, policies, procedures and standards relating to system security

  • Support ongoing and new security/compliance initiatives

  • Some travel may be required

  • Job level dependent on experience

Required Skills/Experience:

  • BS/BEng/BTech degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstrated solid understanding and experience of Linux Systems administration

  • Strong scripting skills (i.e. Python/Perl, shell scripting) for automation.

  • 5+ years experience deploying and managing infrastructure (Identity, Access, Authentication, Authorization, Accounting)

  • Strong technical understanding of system and network fundamentals

 

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • RedHat Certification or equivalent

  • Automation/scripting skill for configuration management/monitoring, especially python and puppet

  • Experience with Kerberos, SSO, LDAP authentication mechanisms.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, especially for documentation purposes.

  • Experience with some or all of:

    • Bro, Suricata, Snort, Sourcefire

    • Puppet

    • LogStash, rsyslogresponse

    • Kafka, Spark, Flume

    • Splunk, Hadoop, ElasticSearch

  • Experience with automation of system provisioning and deployment.

  • Experience with cloud scale Identity, Access, Authentication, Authorization, Accounting services

  • Excellent English communication skills - written and oral

  • Experience in a high-availability 24x7x365 environment with highly structured change management

 

Desired Skills for Specific teams:

  • Systems Security Engineer: Linux systems engineering, strong scripting skill with python, puppet or golang services for automation, AWS, or other relevant cloud expertise.

  • System Security Engineer, Encryption: Linux Systems Security Engineer focusing on building, automating, managing and supporting cryptographic key management systems. HSM, TLS, PKI, Key Management, AWS, GCP.

  • Security Automation Engineer: Scripting/task automation experience within python, go, perl. 3+ years experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible.

  • Security Operations Engineer: Experience in a high-availability 24x7x365 environment, Linux systems engineering/operations or other security monitoring engineering/operations experience, while integrating services via Rest APIs.

  • Senior Identity and Access Management Engineer: LDAP, Linux, AWS, production experience
