Measurement & Signature Intelligence Analyst


Sierra Nevada Corporation’s nContext Business Unit is looking to add a Measurement and Signatures Intelligence (MASINT) Analyst/Engineer to provide Activity Based Intelligence (ABI) support to ongoing work with several National agencies, as well as other clients. The ideal candidate with have experience in Activity Based Intelligence (ABI) and associated analytics, based on data from a variety of collection platforms, including, but not limited to JSTARS. The ideal candidate will likewise be well versed in Intelligence Community related data intensive applications, as well as standard COTS (Contractor Off the Shelf) and GOTS (Government Off the Shelf) Geospatial imagery analytic tools.


    • Working as part of a cross functional team dealing with Activity Based Intelligence provided thru Open Source and Government/Classified MASINT related data

    • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements

    • Conducting data mining using state-of-the-art methods

    • Extending data bases with third party sources of information

    • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

    • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis

    • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner

    • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance


  • Follow SNC policies, procedures and work instructions for all technical activities

  • Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)


  • Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by management

  • 10+ years or more  of relevant experience

  • 6+ experience as a JSTARS GSM Operator, or Ground Forces (read Army or USMC) JSTARS analyst required.
  • Service in the Armed Forces of the United States of America with an Honorable Discharge is required
  • Also requires fundamental knowledge of Windows operating environment.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills required

  • Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams required

  • Proven leadership ability, and a strong desire to work in a dynamic team environment required.

  • Must be highly skilled in MS Excel and PowerPoint to support program activities.

  • Active TS/SC with Poly Security Clearance is required.


    • This position requires current/active Top Secret/U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.  The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.

    • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
